Two Year Program
Your wide-eyed little one discovers more and more each day. Most two-year-old children are filled with energy and an innate curiosity about the world around them. But they’re also rapidly developing their sense of independence. At Jaycees Early Learning Center, our two-year-old classrooms are more structured than infant and toddler early childhood programs, but still designed to help children continue to grow and develop.
Two-Year-Old Learning
Our two-year-old classes encourage children to develop their language skills through interactive communication and other activities. Our experienced and certified teachers create exciting classrooms and lesson plans that engage and intrigue your two-year-old. Every month, the classroom begins a curriculum in a new developmentally-appropriate theme, each of which are designed to encourage exploration one or more of the following areas:
- Arts and Crafts
- Language and Literacy
- Dramatic Play
- Building Blocks
- Computer Skills
- Library
- Music
These areas of curriculum provide children with appropriate, hands-on learning activities purposefully designed to meet the individual needs of each child. Our teachers and caregivers introduce children to letters, numbers, art mediums, science concepts and experiments, and reading. All subjects are presented in ways that spark their imagination and curiosity.
As toddlers learn to understand the meaning behind the written word and numbers, they will also start to see how these concepts represent the world around them in meaningful ways. To encourage efficiency and effectiveness, we use a variety of sing-along songs, activities, games, fingerplay, and conversations. These tactics help to occupy the hands and minds of the little ones as they clean up, gather for group activities, or wait for lunch or snacks to be served.
