As four-year-olds inch closer to beginning school, it is important for them to be ready for the challenges they will face. At Jaycees Early Learning Center, our four-year-old curriculum, teachers, and classrooms will provide your child with the opportunities and skills needed to grow and thrive in a variety of environments, from elementary school onward.

Daycare Classes For Four-Year-Olds

Our preschool age programs concentrate on pre-readiness skills such as the letters of the alphabet, writing their names, phonics, word recognition, mathematical concepts, science projects, and other essential concepts to ensure a successful start to school. Children at four years of age often exhibit increased cognitive skills by asking a lot of questions and showing a greater interest in their community. Our certified teachers foster this development by providing hands-on activities and learning centers that allow them to choose the area in which they are most interested — we even take monthly field trips around the Maryland community to fuel interest. There are a variety of individual and teacher-led kindergarten readiness activities throughout the day which encourage the children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn.

Each child in our four-year-old daycare program has a portfolio created to track their progress. Portfolios are also used as a tool for planning activities according to each child’s developmental needs and can be a helpful resource for parents to attain a better understanding of their child’s needs and interests.
