More Than Babysitting

On a surface level, bringing your child to a daycare has the practical purpose of, well, caring for your child during the day. At Jaycees Early Learning Center, we want to show our parents that there are real, tangible benefits to having your child in an environment with other children. Of course, we uphold the highest standards of care and safety, but we also want to nurture your child’s mind and development, and that involves so much more than simply keeping them occupied while in our care.

Socialization

Have you ever been at home, spending time with your child, and think to yourself “They sure could use some friends?” Of course! You care for your child, but there’s only so much that you can offer an infant or toddler as an adult. They don’t relate to your 9-5 responsibilities or the intricacies of the finer points of football. 

When a child is placed in a safe environment with other children of the same age, they are able to develop a stronger sense of themselves, each other, and what is expected of them in social interactions. They learn that what they say or do affects other people. They experience the joy of positive interactions, as well as the emotional consequences of poor interactions. Even at a young age, interactions with others lead to problem solving, relationship building, and learning normal, healthy social expectations.

Consistency

Sometimes, schedules get all out of whack, and that’s normal! At Jaycees in Fort Washington, we want to help parents and children maintain a sense of consistency in their lives. Bringing your child to our learning center will help create in them a sense of safety, positive predictability and routine. We will always have fun and creative activities to enjoy and learn, and when your child expects to come to us regularly, a sense of security develops that will carry over into their lives at home as well! 

Creativity & Playfulness

Giving your child the environment to explore creatively and allow for playfulness in a social setting can have incredibly positive effects in their developing minds. Our learning center is structured to allow for these creative activities, while also being guided by certified and credentialed teachers and caregivers. Letting a child use their imagination to create stories and play with others  so that they can get their minds off the TV, minimize their desire for unhealthy screen time, and establish a love for creativity.

School Age Programs

Fostering healthy social interactions and enabling your children to develop creativity doesn’t stop when they’re little! We offer school-age programs that extend further into the crucial development time in your child’s life. Our after-school programs are designed to expand your child’s creativity, verbal and writing abilities, and cognitive skills, all in a fun, safe setting.
